In 1922, he graduated from the Astrakhan Art School. He rose through the ranks from an apprentice painter to director of the A.S. Pushkin State Museum of Fine Arts. His stays in Germany, Sweden, Austria, France, and especially Paris from 1931 to 1935 influenced his works of the 1930s, which are distinguished by their boldness and naturalness of execution. During the Great Patriotic War, fate brought the artist to Kazakhstan. From 1943 to 1959, Eifert worked in Karaganda as the head of an art studio. V.A. Eifert died in 1960 in Karaganda.
